It is located in Phimai, Nakhon Ratchasima (Khorat) province, about 5 hour’s travel by bus from Bangkok.
 
Phimai has pleasing location, with the river Moon flowing its many branches around the town.
The construction of Prasat Phimai took place between the 11th-13th centuries A.D. 
 
The grounds of Prasat Phimai are spacious and well kept. The principal tower (prang) is surrounded by galleries on all sites. Possibly initially built dedicated to Hindu Gods, later Prasat Hin Phimai functioned as a Mahayana Buddhist sanctuary.
 
Phimai has interesting National Museum, where many of the lintels, found at Prasat Phimai and surrounding temples. Close to the city center is a giant banyan tree, situated in a pond. The single tree rather looks like a giant forest.

There is a longtail boat ticket booth located at the intersection of two busy streets of Ao nang beach, near Phra Nang Inn.

How to get there:


By Bus Rayong is connected by regular bus services with Bangkok and other towns and provinces such as Pattaya, Chonburi, Chanthaburi, Chiang Mai, Khon Kaen, Nong Khai, Surin and Ubon Ratchathani.


Air conditioned and regular buses depart from Bangkok to Rayong in Eastern Bus Terminal Sukhumvit Road, Ekamai, Tel : 3914900 (air) and Tel : 3912504 (non-air). Air conditioned buses depart Bangkok every 30-40 minutes from 5am to 10pm. One way fare is 85 baht. Non-air-conditioned buses depart from Bangkok every 30 minutes from 4:30am to 8pm. One way fare is 47 Baht. The trip takes about 3 hours.


Airconditioned buses depart from Bangkok to Ban Phe every 1 hour from 7am until 8:30pm and non- air-conditioned buses every 1 hour from 5:15am up to 6:30pm. One way fare is 90 baht for air-conditioned bus and 50 baht for non-air conditioned bus.


By Air Bangkok Airways operates regular scheduled flights from Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Phuket and Samui Island to Rayong-Utapao International Airport.


Local Transportation
Public urban transportation within Rayong is in the form of minibuses. Local buses depart from Rayong Bus Terminal at Rayong Trade Centre for various destinations throughout the day depending on the distances. Fares are about 5-15 baht depend on the distances.


Boat to Ko Samet
Ko Samet can be reached by boat from Ban Phe. Boats depart from Ban Phe to Ko Samet through out the day starting from 6am until 5pm.  Fare is 30 baht for one way trip. The trip takes about 40 minutes.

KOH TARUTAO NATIONAL PARK

Located in Satun province about 973 kilometers South of Bangkok. It is famous for its magnificent colorful  soft and hard coral and long white-sand beaches of Tarutao, Adang, Lipe and Rawi islands.
Tarutao National Park was declared Thailand's first national marine park in 1974 and reserves by UNESCO in 1982. It consists of 51 islands. Koh Tarutao is the biggest island in the Tarutao National Park which most popular for tourists who would like to have vacation in Thailand.

How to get there?
Getting to Tarutao island is easy, starting with a flight to Hat Yai and take about 2 hours by Van to Pakbara port and then by speed Boat directly to Tarutao Island. Pakbara port ToTarutao Island everyday at 10:30am-2pm.
Back to mainland has two boat starting at 9am- 2pm.
